Roald Dahl is gone, and Willy Wonka has not taken it well.  From his hideaway, deep in the rolling hills of Gloucestershire he has had plenty of time to think, to muse – to contemplate. It’s difficult for people like him – he knows this. Without Roald, neither he nor any of his associates have any shape in their life.

Fantastic Mr. Fox, he hears, is beginning to hit middle age, George’s marvelous medicine has been bought up by a multinational and is now marketed as a growth aid and Danny has never quite come to terms with being known as the “former” Champion of the world.

Perhaps, he thinks… perhaps if someone – one of them, were to take on the mantle of Roald… to be his heir… then everything would be the same again… Willy Wonka sits back. There would have to be a competition. After all, he reminds himself – a competition is the best way of solving everything…
